Letter on its way...

Well, it seems that the practice in Naples, FL is rather partial to me. According to my "agent" who is helping me find jobs around the country, the practice is excited to have me come aboard and take over their Naples office entirely. They are currently writing an offer letter for which I will then respond and negotiate a fair situation for both the owner and myself. Then a contract will be written up and if everything works out to my liking, I will agree and will officially be employed as of July 1, 2006 with a "real" job. This will no doubt disappoint many that would prefer I practice in Kentucky. I hope they will understand that I will practice in Kentucky when the right opportunity presents itself, but I refuse to settle for a sub-par position especially after my extensive training in Ocular Disease the past two years. I would love nothing more than to be nearer my family. On the bright side, Naples will afford me an opportunity for a few years that many don't attain in Optometry, as it is a difficult city to be in the eyecare market due to its inherent expenses of living. Maybe living with year round warm temperatures won't be so bad. Also, will give some in the family an opportunity for a vacation that is well deserved......"MOM and DAD, I'm talking to you!" :)
