The Collins Flag stands today, at half-mast.....

My precious Grannie, as of around 3am this morning, passed away. She was 77 years old, born in Ivel, Kentucky August 27th, 1928. She had a long fight with what began as throat cancer and ended with her eternal repose. She truly was a precious person that taught me much about the simple things in life.....I am so proud to have had her as my Grannie and I'm so thankful that she raised such a wonderful son, my Dad, whom I am so very very proud of that words couldn't even express. My last few hours with her, mid-May, she was happy and without pain and remembering old times that I joyfully ate her homecooked meals always with cornbread or her holiday gingerbread made by her own little hands.....how fun it was to be there and speak of such things with her and my precious fiance Jessica, who was there supporting me knowing how much my family means to me. My heart is in shreds right now thinking about my vibrant papaw, what his thoughts at this time might be, and the memories he must be reminiscing of the two of them and their eight children as the fact sinks in that his "Mary Ruth" won't be home any longer. What brings me solace is that my family (Mom and Dad) are there with him to keep his mind off of the obvious, to let things come to him slowly and that the family is there for him as they always have been and always will be.

Below you will find a link to Nelson-Frazier Funeral home where her services will be held Thursday and Friday. Please, if you knew her, leave a little note to the family.

Thank you so much!
